Winderlust: Taste & Explore in Soho

Winederlust has been operating in Soho for a period of time. In January, they opened a wine bar on the ground floor, allowing customers to enjoy wine by the glass or by the bottle.

This modern wine bar specializes in wines from various countries, offering over 300 selections. They feature wines from well-known regions like France, Italy, and Australia, as well as some lesser-known Eastern European regions such as Bulgaria, Romania, and Israel. Winederlust offers a wide range of wines, including selections from boutique wineries, popular wineries, and prestigious estates. The prices vary significantly, ranging from a hundred to several thousand dollars, providing plenty choices for customers for different occasions.

Unlike typical wine bars, Winederlust encourages guests to sample multiple wines with smaller pours. They offer a rotating wine menu with approximately 20 options for full bottles, by the glass (150 ml), and tasting portions (75 ml), allowing customers to explore wines from different regions. To ensure the wines are served in optimal condition, the bar has a wine preservation system in place to control temperatures and prevent oxidation.

Additionally, Winederlust recently introduced four tasting flights:

"The First Stop": featuring 3 approachable and easy-drinking wine selections.

"The Classic": offering 6 wines, focusing on classic regions such as Champagne, Burgundy and Barolo.

"The Traveller": showcasing 6 unique wines, featuring regions, indigenous grapes and winemaking styles.

"The Winederlust": a selection of 9 signature wines that cover sparkling, white, red, and sweet wines, providing an opportunity to experience the differences between regions and styles

From Tuesday to Friday, Winederlust also offers Happy Hour from 2 PM to 8 PM, with single glasses (150 ml) priced at $58, providing a perfect opportunity for a casual drink after work.

In terms of charges, Winederlust does not provide complimentary snacks and does not have an additional snack charge. However, a 10% service charge is included.

The venue operates as a bar, retailer and an online store. Customers who prefer not to consume on-site can visit the first floor to purchase wines. Sommeliers are available to assist with wine selection and recommendations. Additionally, there is a tasting room on the second floor and an outdoor terrace on the top floor, both capable of accommodating around 16 people, making them suitable for private or business events.

With its extensive wine selection and competitive prices, Winederlust is particularly suitable for wine beginners to explore different grape varieties and regions with the option tasting portions. Wine enthusiasts can also explore and indulge in wines from lesser-known regions and grape varieties. However, with an emphasis on lesser-known regions, some customers may find that by the glass options from traditional regions may be limited.

On April 5th and 6th, Winederlust will be hosting its first Free-Flow wine tasting event, featuring eight red and white wines from different regions, including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from France, Romania, Bulgaria, and Australia. The event will include paired snacks and is currently offered at a discounted price of $358 (excluding service charge). For those interested, please link to @winederlust for more details.
